Father God has always emphasised the importance of creativity. He is God the Creator, and we are made in His likeness. He has given each of us creative gifts, gifts that express something of His nature to the world, gifts that express our worship to Him. Unfortunately, historically, the Church has only recognised musical gifts, but now the Holy Spirit is awaking the Body of Christ worldwide to other creative gifts that He wants us to use.
Father has asked us to make space in the House for creativity. So, in the basement, we have set aside a place where people can “play” and have a go at different creative arts, to discover what has yet to be revealed within themselves.
He wants this House to be a manifestation of His Kingdom, where people come and spend time with Him, worshipping, praying, engaging Heaven, receiving what He wants to give, as well as expressing our love to Him in all sorts of creative ways. This maybe through a song, playing an instrument, dancing, but also through other ways like painting, banners, sewing, creative writing, or whatever God has put on your heart.
Perhaps you had a desire from childhood, but as you grew older you dismissed it as childish, and now, you’re not sure if this was from God or not! Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” There’s a place for being like a child before Him! It’s a place of innocence, trust and dependency. So, unless you start expressing that desire, you will never know if it’s from Him. Father loves it when we try something new, have a play, and be like a child in His Presence. He’s not going to criticise and He’s not looking for the perfect picture. Just as you delight in your own children’s efforts, so does your Heavenly Father delight in you!
When people create something and it comes from their heart, from their essence, it has the potential to carry and release Life. The Holy Spirit showed me (Cathy) a picture once, of people creating things in the House of Life and then taking them back home. They carried something of the Life in this place, a bit like the handkerchiefs that touched Paul’s body and were used to heal the sick (Acts 19:12).
As with everything in the House of life, we expect the creative nature of the House to grow and develop as He leads. Once everything is up and running, we plan to host creative workshops with visiting teachers / instructors. These will be “hands on”, where you can play and experiment in the area being taught.
