Role of Residential Volunteer

Role of a Residential Volunteer

Some notes for someone who may be interested in coming and being a residential volunteer…

Introduction

The House of Life is now coming into a new phase. We have all the permits to use the building and are busy equipping it, ready to take residential volunteers. The vision Father God has given us is to have a group of people, which for another word we can call a community. A community that corporately and individually are on a journey of discovery of what it is to be a son of God.

The earth is groaning for the revelation of the manifestation of the sons of God

In these days Father God is pouring more and more revelation on to the body of Christ of what it means to be a governing son of God and what it means to govern from Heaven downwards.

And so we are wanting people who have a hunger and desire to go on this journey of discovery with Father God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. Father God has said the House of Life is a new wine skin and we are looking for those who desire the New Wine that Father God is pouring out in the late 2020’s and 2030’s.

The most important thing that an individual can bring to the House is themselves, for each one of us is made in the image of God, each one of us has had placed in their essence something unique of the Father – a gift to the world. So part of the journey is to find within ourselves the treasure that Father God has put into each individual, and to recognise it in each other. It is a journey of self discovery of I in Christ and Christ in me.

So to make sure it is clear, we are not looking for people to fill particular roles, we are not looking for experienced intercessors and we are not looking for numbers of people to fill the house.

We are looking for the hungry, those prepared to let go of the old wine of 30, 20 or even 10 years ago. We are looking for those prepared to allow their mindsets to be challenged. The world is changing fast. Father God is releasing on the earth revelation of heavenly things that are more than a match for what is happening in the world today. We want to access them, for it is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings to search out a matter. And we are the kings!

We believe Father God has raised up the House of Life for these days to release life for the Jewish People and the whole of Europe. To release life from what was a place of death. For where the seed was buried, the tree will grow!

Term of service

This depends the volunteer and their personal circumstances but could be anything from a month to a year. Absolute minimum is three weeks.

Ministry

A volunteer can expect to:

  1. Minister to the Lord: spend time with Him, worship Him, spend time in the prayer room, individually and corporately.
  2. Minister to yourself. Spend time on your own personal development. Discover who you have been made to be and be it! God has deposited something unique of Himself into each individual. We feel it is important in the House of Life that people use and develop their gifts. Gifts are given to be used in worship, serving others and for our own self-esteem. Spend time developing your gifts (spiritual gifts, natural gifts and gifts and abilities that have to be learnt and developed) and spend time discovering new gifts.
  3. Minister to the community. Help with the domestic chores of the house, cooking, cleaning, gardening, etc. Join in with House activities, such as sharing a Shabbat meal together.
  4. Minister to others. Help with hosting groups who come to visit the house, with practical help, such as preparing refreshments, cleaning up and also participate in the meetings and have fellowship with the visitors.
  5. Attend staff meetings. From time to time we will call staff meetings, to catch up with what is happening, have fellowship together, worship together, etc. These are a must.

A residential volunteer will be involved in the whole life of the House. You will not be expected to join in everything all the time except staff meetings. People have different energy levels and it is important for all that each one of us feels comforatable in what we take on. All we say is having a primary commitment to Father God’s mandate for the House is essential.

If you are interested please read the Procedure For Volunteer Recruitment. In it, it explains that the first step is to come and visit as a day visitor for a minimum of a few days, to meet with us and familiarise yourself with the activities of the HoL.
